Y7 - Y10 Sustainability Ambassadors Trip! Miss Shires and team took our ambassadors to visit the R4GM Longley Lane Recycling Centre in Sharston to learn more about the importance of recycling and had a tour of the MRF wearing PPE. The students were engaged, professional and really impressed the staff, with them commenting on how 'intelligent and knowledgeable' students were already about sustainability. Hopefully they can use everything learn to improve our recycling here at UCS. As one of the students said to me earlier, 'it wasn't such a rubbish trip after all!'.
Barry's Bingo – Attendance Stars! Last week our very own Mr Barry hosted Barry's Bingo, celebrating students who have been recognised for their fantastic attendance. It was a great opportunity to reward those who consistently show up, work hard and make the most of their time in school. Being in school every day helps pupils learn, grow and take part in all the exciting opportunities happening in class. Well done to everyone recognised – keep up the great effort, every day counts! #UCSFutureReady #MakingMemories
Our Year 12 Psychology students had an inspiring day at Manchester Metropolitan University for a fantastic taster experience! They explored the university's impressive facilities on a guided campus tour and took part in an engaging psychology session focused on language and thinking. It was a brilliant opportunity to experience university life and deepen their understanding of how psychology explores the way we communicate and process the world around us. Well done to all our students for representing us so brilliantly! #UTC
A Very Special Visitor at School! The Grinch (Miss Saunt) surprised us with a visit to our school yesterday, spreading laughter, excitement, and a little bit of playful mischief! Our students showed them just how strong our holiday spirit is, and it was a fun, unforgettable way to celebrate the season together. Looks like even the Grinch couldn't resist the joy in our halls!
WOW what a busy week so far! A festive week at school! We celebrated our students in award assemblies, enjoyed festive hot chocolate fundraising, marked Culture Day, and wrapped up in style for Christmas Jumper Day. Our Charity Club also shared kindness by delivering student-written Christmas cards to Bright Meadows Care Home. A wonderful week of celebration, generosity, and community!Thank you to everyone who made this week so special!
