The Pearson BTEC National Diploma in Engineering is for learners who want to pursue a career in Engineering and who want to be able to collaborate across and apply knowledge, skills and understanding in other areas of engineering. This will then able our students to either progress to an apprenticeship, further education or employment in a variety of Engineering fields.
KS3 DT & Engineering
Students explore the principles of design, make, and evaluate across various domains like Graphics, Product Design, and Robotics, laying a solid foundation for advanced study.
KS3 ART
'In Art students follow a curriculum that is rich in culture. With a journey of record, research and create. Looking with the Art from across the world and past and present artists
KS4 DT, Art, Photography & Engineering
For KS4 Engineering you follow the WJEC Level 2 Technical Award in Engineering. Students delve into global Engineering sectors, CAD, and hands-on manufacturing, complemented by real-world employer engagements.
For KS4 creative subject you can choose 3D Design or Art and alongside one of these you may also choose photography. You follow the AQA Art and Design specification where you focus on creating individual responses to a given brief in your chosen skill area looking at existing designers and artists.
The curriculum revisits key areas to solidify skills and understanding, with a focus on design principles, problem-solving, and the use of modern manufacturing processes.
Curriculum Assessments
- Formative and Summative Assessment: Tailored to project requirements at KS3, with KS4 and KS5 assessments aligning with technical award and GCSE specifications.
- External Assessments: Preparation through practice assignments and mock exams, with progress tracked for targeted intervention.
